Welcome

The Western New York Women's Fund has a vision for a community where all women and girls have the opportunity to thrive.  To that end, our mission is to be a leader in identifying, communicating and funding innovative, effective solutions that improve the lives of women and girls in Western New York.  We believe, with the right resources, women and girls will make informed choices that will forever change their lives and our community.  Our goal is to help them seize opportunities, avoid common risks and believe in a successful future…because we believe in them.

"I support the WNY Women's Fund because the most influential and empowering people in my life have been women.  I know that not all women are as fortunate as I to have the encouragement and support I've had, and this is one small way I can help women and girls in our community.  I also believe that women set the tone for the quality of life in a family and a community.  By empowering women, giving them the opportunity, skills and tolls, their lives and all those they touch will be improves." -- Laurie Dann, WNY Women's Fund Donor and Grants Committee Member

Fall in Fashion

On Friday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m., a group of nearly 300 women enjoyed the sixth annual Fall in Fashion luncheon at the Buffalo Club.  Co-chaird by Women's Fund supporters Shine Hassanali, Mindy Shine and Jody Ulrich, the luncheon featured a raffle of luxury items from top international designers, including fashions created by deigner and Buffalo-native Adam Lippes.

Football 101

Nearly 100 women attended this year's Football 101 event, sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of WNY and the Buffalo Bills.  The event took place on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Bills Fieldhouse and was highlighted by addresses from NFL.com's Vic Carucci and WIVB-TV Sports Director, John Murphy.  Former and current Bills players took our attendees through the X's and O's of the game and even taught them how to run plays and kick fieldgoals.  All proceeds from this unique event go directly to the Women's Fund and support our efforts to fund innovative, effective solutions that improve the lives of women and girls throughout Western New York.  Don't miss out on this exciting event next fall!
